Seriously, Bedazzle That Shit
First attempt at galaxy nails, they’re kind of a nail artist prerequisite.
I found that those small makeup sponges that come in drugstore palettes work well for blending while maintaining precision.

Revlon’s Carbonite is a famous dupe for Chanel’s Graphite.  I’m not going to give too much of a review because this polish popped up everywhere a little while back.  But my initial reactions were that it really is almost identical to Graphite, just significantly less expensive.  I was extremely impressed with the formulation because often in satin/suede/metallic finishes it’s easy to see where you put the brush down for a second coat because they are prone to streakiness and this applied flawlessly.  With that being said… I kind of hate this color on me.  While I do love the shade and that it is such a perfect dupe to a Chanel, it simply does not suit my skin tone and I’ve never been a fan of these kinds of finishes.  Don’t get me wrong though, that is only a matter of personal preference.  I absolutely recommend this and am extremely impressed.

Here’s a review for you on Sally Hansen’s Big Money from the Gem Crush collection. I purchased mine at my local CVS for somewhere in the seven dollar range.
This golden/champagne shade is saturated with tiny golden glitter flecks but what makes it truly unique are the slightly larger pinkish purple glitters which are all resting in a clear base.  I have yet to find a dupe because of the multi sized and shades of glitter.  The Sally Hansen website promises “full-coverage formula and multi-color reflectivity” which are both definitely provided.  The opacity is similar to the Milani One Coat Glitters in that you can get away with one layer but probably prefer two.  It definitely needs to be sealed with a top coat to avoid the bumpy or gritty texture.  I prefer a thicker one such as Seche Vite.  However, this is where it gets tricky.  I feel that after a second layer the density of the glitter polish becomes too solid and loses any kind of flexibility so it starts to easily chip with any nail bend or bump.
Overall, this formula is nowhere near long wearing but that aside I would absolutely recommend it.  I think with this Sally Hansen has created a combination of glitter that is unmatchable and I absolutely love the shiny reflection it has in the light.  I’ve gotten so so many compliments while wearing Big Money and I want to share my newest love with you.

Feathers have been popping up everywhere over the last few months so I decided nails should be included in the trend as well.  To make these I used an array of rustic shades including Power Clutch, Lady Like, Very Structured, and Carry On which make up almost all of the Essie Fall collection.  And to create the feathers I used OPI’s Alpine Snow and OPI’s Onyx on my Orly Detailer brush.  Then to top it off bedazzlethatshit style I added some Art Deco Gold Glitter to the middle of some of the feathers for dimension.

Looking back at my Holiday posts, I realized I needed some designs that were a bit toned down.  This is what I came up with because although it’s still a fun glitter nail, it is a lot more subtle and wearable for those who are just venturing out.  Welcome to the dark side ;)
This is Zoya’s Minka, which I got in my birchbox a few months back and adore, with Sally Hansen’s Gem Crush in 03 Big Money applied to the tips with a makeup sponge.  Happy New Years!

There are so many things about this manicure that I love I don’t even know where to start.  Aside from the gorgeous glitter gradient which I accomplished with a makeup sponge, Art Deco gold glitter, and Milani One Coat in 525 Gold Glitz, I am absolutely in love with the new Revlon Colorstay nail polishes.  I religiously wear Colorstay foundation every single day and the nail polish is on par with the outstanding quality.  This one is 220 Rain Forest  (which happens to be the same shade number as the foundation WOAH) and it is a forest green with emerald fine glitter.  I. adore. It.

Happy New Years Everybody!!  I sincerely hope this year has been as amazing for everyone as it has for me.  It’s been a year to remember and even with so many changes happening, everything seems to be for the better.  Have a great celebration of 2012 and be safe! XO

In true “bedazzlethatshit” fashion, I’ve been sporting the glittery combination of Sally Hansen’s Celeb City over Milani’s 530 Gems.  This is one of many rainbow glitter nail polishes that are becoming popular right now after the take off of OPI’s Rainbow Connection and Deborah Lippman’s Happy Birthday.  Often I’m opposed to thinner brushes, like Milani’s, but I loved having that with the glitter because it made it easy to spread individual flakes.

I love this metallic/glittery combination.  It’s perfect in anticipation of New Year’s because the monochromatic element keeps it understated enough for day time.  This is Milani’s 531 Gold from the Jewel Collection layered on top of Orly’s Rage which is their infamous Rose Gold.   I did have to work with the glitter to disperse the flakes evenly but other than that I love love love it.

Essie’s new Luxeffect collection is absolutely amazing.  It’s the best of everything glitter combined into a beautiful set of different yet coherent polishes that could be both stand-alone or topcoats.  Here, I’m wearing Essie’s A Cut Above, a multidimensional glitter with small to medium sized pieces of pink sparkle.  Although I could get away with two or three coats of this alone, I chose to pair it with Orly’s Rage to ensure opacity.  This combination ended up bringing about the rose gold tone that I was originally hoping for with Rage.
